Licence

Every animation in this catalogue is published by Business Nebula under one of the two licences on this page. Copying an animation out of the catalogue means accepting them.

Which one applies to you. The Free licence covers personal use, your own organisation’s use, and work you deliver to a client, and it requires credit. The Premium licence covers everything the Free licence does, removes the credit requirement, adds the right to ship the animations inside something you sell, and opens the premium catalogue. It applies while you hold a Pulsar subscription.

This version governs all use. These terms apply to your use of the animations from the day they are published, including animations you obtained under an earlier version of this page. See changes to this licence.

Free licence

The Free licence is a launch offer and is not permanent. Subject to the limits below, and for as long as it remains available, you are granted a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to:

• use the animations for personal, private, educational and non-commercial purposes;
• use them in your own organisation’s internal materials, and in its own website, marketing, advertising, social posts, decks and documents;
• use them in work you produce for a client, where the animation forms part of that work’s design and presentation;
• modify them — retime, recolour, redraw, combine them with your own work. A modified animation stays subject to this licence; changing an animation does not turn it into an asset you hold free of these terms.

What the Free licence does not cover

These need the Premium licence. They are not prohibited uses — they are the ones a subscription is for.

• Anything you sell or distribute. Including an animation in a product, application, website template, theme, plugin, extension, component library or asset pack that you sell, license or distribute to others is outside the Free licence — whether or not the animation is the thing being paid for.
• Use without credit. The credit below is a condition of the Free licence, not a courtesy.

Credit is required

Wherever you use an animation under this licence, credit Pulsar. On a web page, a visible link is enough:

Anywhere a link is not possible — print, video, a native application — the words Animation by Pulsar in the credits or acknowledgements will do. One credit covers every animation you use in the same work; you do not need one per icon.

If credit is genuinely impossible or unwanted, that is what the Premium licence is for.

Premium licence

A Pulsar subscription grants everything in the Free licence, and in addition, subject to the limits below:

• use in what you sell — you may include the animations in a product, application, template, theme or other work you sell, license or distribute, as part of that work’s interface, design or marketing;
• no credit is required, for any use, commercial or personal;
• access to the premium catalogue, which is not available under the Free licence.

What you took stays yours

The Premium licence over any animation you downloaded while subscribed is perpetual as to that animation. It survives the end of your subscription: you may keep using those animations, in the projects you have already shipped and in new ones, without credit, for as long as you like. Ending a subscription stops your access to the premium catalogue and to new animations. It does not reach back into work you have done.

This is a deliberate difference between the two licences. The Free licence is a standing offer that can be changed or withdrawn; the Premium licence is something you paid for, and it is not taken back.

What neither licence allows

• Redistributing the assets as assets. You may not sell, sublicense or give away the animations — original or modified — as an icon set, template pack, component library, design-system download or any other product whose value is the assets themselves. Both licences cover using them in your work, not republishing them as ours or as yours.
• Competing with Pulsar. You may not use the animations, original or modified, in or for any catalogue, library, marketplace, plugin, extension, generator or service that offers icons, animations or illustrations to others, whether free or paid; nor to build, seed, populate, benchmark or promote such a thing; nor in the marketing of one. This applies however much an animation has been changed, and it applies to the catalogue as a body of work as much as to any single mark.
• Reselling access to the catalogue. You may not scrape, mirror or systematically download the catalogue in order to offer it, in whole or in substantial part, through another service.
• Using them as a trade mark. You may not register an animation, or a mark derived closely from one, as a trade mark or logo. Doing so would take it out of circulation for everyone else licensed to use it.
• Training generative models on the catalogue. You may not use the animations as training, fine-tuning or retrieval data for any machine-learning model, nor permit a third party to do so on your behalf.

Merchandise and print on demand

Putting an animation on something you sell for its own sake — a t-shirt, a poster, a mug, a phone case, a print-on-demand listing — is not covered by either licence, because there the asset is the product rather than part of one. Ask first: contact Business Nebula.

Changes to this licence, and the Free licence in particular

The Free licence is a launch offer. It is available now, it is not permanent, and it may be narrowed or withdrawn. Business Nebula will publish at least 90 days’ notice on this page before the Free licence is withdrawn altogether, so that work already published under it can be brought into line or a subscription taken out.

The current version governs. These terms may change. A change takes effect on the day it is published and applies from then to all use of the animations, including animations obtained under an earlier version of this page. Continuing to use an animation after a change means accepting the version in force.

Two things are carved out of that and do not change retrospectively: the perpetual Premium grant over animations downloaded during a subscription, described above; and anything you have already done, which is judged under the terms that applied when you did it.

Ownership

Business Nebula retains copyright in the animations. This is a licence to use them, not a transfer of ownership. Nothing here restricts your rights in the work you make with them: your project is yours.

Provenance

Some animations in this catalogue were authored by AI agents under human review, and some by hand. Each entry records which, in its origin field. The licence is identical either way.

Dependencies

Animations in the motion tier require GSAP, which is licensed separately by its own publisher and is not redistributed by either licence. See third-party notices.

No warranty

The animations are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Business Nebula is not liable for any loss arising from their use. Nothing in this paragraph excludes a right or guarantee that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
